SSE - Engineering – Electrical-Energy

The School of Science & Engineering (SSE) at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco, seeks qualified applicants for a full-time Electrical-Energy Engineering faculty position. Successful candidates must have the qualifications and interests in teaching a wide range of Electrical – Energy-related courses to support the school’s undergraduate majors in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Electrical - Energy Engineering or a related field. The appointment will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on individual credentials and experience. Evidence of an active research profile and willingness to fulfill faculty service expectations to SSE and the University is also required. As AUI is a liberal arts institution, students come from various disciplines and majors across the University.

Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane is fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), and the three major degree programs in SSE are ABET accredited. As the only English language institution of higher education in Morocco and only the second U.S.- accredited university in Africa. Located in the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains, approximately 45 minutes from the historic cities of Fez and Meknes, Ifrane offers both unparalleled natural beauty and a highly desirable, safe and livable environment ideally suited to families. An American-style K-12 school is also connected to the University.

Short-listed candidates will be invited to interview on Microsoft Teams and have a 30-minute teaching demonstration class pending the results of the initial interview. The successful candidate will be expected to assume this position on 21 August 2023.
