The Human Resources Office invites internal and external applicationsfor the position of Senior Project
Manager in the Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL).
Reporting Line: The position reports directly to the AVP for 21st Century Learning Innovation and
Faculty Development
Position Description Summary:
The Senior Project Manager’s role consists of executing and implementing AUI’s strategy for Faculty
Development, based on internationally renowned quality standards and practices, including a mutidimensional perspective that leverages on various development actions as training and certification,
knowledge and experience sharing, peer-learning, good practice adoption etc. The aim is to engage
faculty in a systematic and continuous competence building process, in line with the University’s
learning innovation endeavors. The Senior Project Manager is also expected to oversee the execution
and implementation of AUI’s strategy for online course and program development, following
internationally renowned quality standards and practices.
Main Duties:
Faculty development:
• Overseeing Faculty Development Workshops as delivered by internal and external trainers (needs
assessment, design, planning, logistics, evaluation etc.).
• Organizing Faculty Development Events (talks, webinars, seminars, team building, study days,
retreats, etc.)
• Identifying and sharing with faculty International Faculty Development opportunities (e.g.,
conferences, certificates, scholarships etc.)
• Managing, editing, and issuing the AUI Faculty Chronicle.
• Communicating and promoting Faculty Development activities to attract faculty and ensure high
levels of attendance and engagement.
• Identifying and pursuing partnership opportunities with international organizations (e.g., Centers for
Teaching & Learning etc.).
• Reporting regularly and systematically on Faculty Development activities (datasets, dashboard, etc.)
Online course development:
• Fostering a culture of online education and IT-based innovative learning among faculty and academic
units.
• Implementing effective training and development programs to support IT-based learning innovation.
• Providing timely support to faculty to ensure efficient adoption of learning delivery and management
tools (e.g., Canvas, MS Teams, Coursera etc.)
• Supporting faculty and academic units to develop online courses and programs in terms of
instructional design, recording, delivery, and monitoring in line with quality assurance requirements.

• Executing the technology upgrading plan including classrooms, e-learning studios, and learning
platforms and applications.
• Supporting the Quality Management System (QMS) in terms of data collection and elaboration of
performance dashboards including various learning dimensions.
Knowledge and skills:
• Strong project management skills for professional development and online course development.
• Good knowledge of instructional design practices.
• Good knowledge of Learning Management Systems and learning technologies.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong customer service orientation skills.
• Mastery of Microsoft Office 365 products.
• Advanced language skills in English, French, and Arabic.
Abilities:
• Ability to prioritize work, take initiatives, and handle multiple tasks.
• Learn quickly, active listening, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with university departments and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work and deliver on time.
• Positive attitude, adaptability, and flexibility.
Education and professional certifications:
Required: Master’s degree or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar position
Preferred:
• Project management certification
• IT certifications
