Human Capital Office invites internal and external applicants for the position of Athletics Assistant in the Athletics Department.

Reporting Line: Assistant Dean of Students Life & Services

Job Overview:

This position is responsible for the different components of athletic service delivery for the university community, she will also be participating in the successful implementation and maintenance of athletic programs and events, she may take part in supervision and evaluation of recreation and athletics programs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the reception of the sports complex.
  • Prepare and equip playing fields, activity areas, and facilities with the necessary tools.
  • Support maintenance and other preparations as required.
  • Worked as a lifeguard during women's swimming pool sessions.
  • Replace the male lifeguard during absences.
  • Work as a lifeguard during busy swimming pool sessions.
  • Teach fitness classes.
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve or report concerns or complaints.
  • Provide advice and consultation on matters concerning facility and equipment use.
  • Recommend and report any adjustments for growth and improvement to the Athletic Director.
  • Maintain records related to the service.
  • Perform other tasks related to the sports complex operations.
  • Supervise the cleaning of all sports facilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Interpersonal relations and conflict resolution.
  • Basic language skills.
  • Sports skills
  • Basic computer skills
Qualification and Professional Experience
  • Required: Bac+2 in sport education or equivalent combination of related education and experience, minimum of two (2) years.
  • Special qualifications and training which provide the required knowledge,
  • Skills and abilities necessary for the job.
  • Physical Ability
  • Aware of safety principles and practices
  • Quality customer service and customer relations
  • Swimming skills required (lifeguard certificate optional)

The Search Process
