Responsibilities

The Security Department is charged with first-line responsibility to:

Assure the safety of all university community: students, staff, faculty, university guests, and on-campus visitors;

  • Ensure the safety, security, and protection of AUI property, including buildings, grounds, equipment, and other assets of the university property located temporarily or permanently on AUI grounds.
  • Respond to emergency situations or conditions and provide assistance or take actions appropriate to the crisis situation within AUI legal limits.
  • Promote the well-being of the university community through the enforcement of university policies and regulations
  • Investigate and implement new techniques, strategies and means which will contribute to a more efficient and effective operation of the security department.

Security Officers from the department are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for quick response. Officers will stand by and support the community member and make the necessary investigation.

What to report?

The emergency phones are helping to ensure the safety of the campus community and can be used if you are a victim of:

• Theft or Assault
• Sexual Misconduct: AUI is a community of trust whose existence depends on strict adherence to standards of conduct set by its members. Sexual misconduct, assault and abuse are serious violations of these standards and are expressly prohibited by the University.
• When you feel in danger
• To report an emergency situation that you witnessed
• Reporting hazardous and unsafe conditions regarding university property.
• Security and protection of personal property of the community members and their guests.
