CAD Faculty Update Center

The Center for Academic Development provides a variety of services for both students and faculty at Al Akhawayn University.

All students, but for a few exceptional cases, complete a series of CAD courses designed to develop independent study and research skills. We are particularly interested in the development of skills and abilities which are transferable across the curriculum. To this end, we would like to inform faculty of what they can expect from their students and to encourage faculty to ensure that students make use of what they have learned.

Students completing CAD courses will have gained considerable practice in varied learning skills. In many cases, depending upon which CAD courses your students have successfully completed, you can and should expect them to be able to do the following things.

Library Research   Internet Research
Basic Computer Skills   Time Management
Independent Research   Collaborative Research
Note Taking   Interpersonal Skills and Social Interaction
Seminar Presentation Skills
   Critical thinking
Paraphrasing
References and Citations
Test-taking Techniques
