Quiz 2 Overview

Part I: Practical Quiz

You and your partner will be given information about 2 different communication situations. In situation 1, one of you will be the Speaker and the other will be the Listener. In situation 2, you will switch roles.

You should base your conversation on the information that you are provided. However, you will have to decide what to say and do! You may not discuss the situation with each other or with your instructor before you begin.

Your instructor will be closely observing and making notes on the verbal and nonverbal strategies used by the listener during each conversation. However, the effects of these strategies on the speaker will also be noted.

Each pair of students will have approximately 10 minutes to complete the 2 different communication situations. Each conversation will probably last about 2-3 minutes.

Part II: Written Assignment

Following Part I of your quiz, you must go to the SSK 1205 web site at

Click on the link to Unit 2 and then click on the link to Unit 2 Quiz: Part II. This link will ask you to download or open a Microsoft Word document, which contains the assignment for the written portion of this quiz. You should save this file and re-open it in Microsoft Word before working on it!

Read and follow the instructions in the file. Pay particular attention to the deadline!
