Activity 1

- At AUI the letter grades hold the following values.
A = 4 points B = 3 points C = 2 points D = 1 point F = 0 points
- Courses hold a semester credit hour (SCH) value.
Example: SSK1203: Computer Skills for Independent Learning holds
a SCH value of 2 credits.
- Formula: Quality Points Earned is calculated by multiplying
the SCH Value by the Value of the Grade.
Example: C2*D2
- Function: Total Quality Points Earned is calculated as the sum
of the column. Use the Sigma icon on the toolbar to insert this
function.
Example: =Sum(E2:E6)
- Formula: Grade point average is calculated by dividing the total
quality points earned by the total SCH value.
Example: E7/C7 (The correct GPA is 14/4 or 3.5)
Activity 2
- Use what you have learned and your personal data on the courses
you are currently taking to create a simple spreadsheet to calculate
your grade point average.
- Print the result and put it in your portfolio.
