- Orientation to leadership (required, first session, early fall)
- Ethics of leadership (required, early fall)
- Effective interpersonal communication (e.g. active listening, getting input and consensus building, dealing with poor communicators). (fall)
- Effective public communication (e.g. keeping people informed, giving advanced notice of events, advertising events) (fall or spring)
- Planning (e.g. action planning, setting priorities, allocating time and resources, delegating, organizing and coordinating many projects). (early fall)
- Running a meeting (e.g. agenda setting, building buy-in to get follow-through, getting participation and staying on time and on topic, parking lot, micro-managing). (fall)
- Building members and membership (e.g. recruiting members, developing members’ skills, turning followers into leaders, mentoring, succession planning) (fall or early spring)
- Conflict management (i.e. constructive conflicting; half-day workshop) (spring)
- Social responsibility (required, fall or spring)
- Leading change (fall or spring)
- Creative problem solving (spring)
