1- TECHNISCHE UNIVERSITÄT MUNICH (GERMANY)

When?

The Summer Program at TUM takes place from June 1st, 2010 – June 22nd, 2010.

What?

  • An intensive German language course (worth 3 credits, ECTS)
  • Workshops depending on participant’s subjects in one of the following fields:
  • Innovations in scientific computing, project management & leadership, bio-informatics/medical engineer, and German culture and society (3 credits, ECTS)
  • Included are also visits to TUM Research labs, introduction to the German automotive industry, social and cultural activities, including trips to cultural and historical sights in Munich and Bavaria.

Costs:

Euro 1500

Including: German course, TUM workshops, cultural program, excursions, health insurance, accommodation in a dorm, half board (Mon-Fri), public transportation pass, to be paid by money transfer.

2- UNIVERSITY OF KOBLENZ/LANDAU (GERMANY)

For Graduates only. Selections are made by the Business School

When?

From June 21 to July 16, 2010

Program:

Courses are open to German and international students on a masters or doctorate level in the field of computer science or business administration/ management.

The course International Economics includes a three-day trip to Brussels. We will be visiting key EU’s institutions like the European Parliament, the EU Commission and the Council and having a city tour.

3-MARKTOBERDORF SUMMER SCHOOL (GERMANY)

When?

August 3 to August 15, 2010

What?

The "Marktoberdorf Summer School" is a two weeks' course for young computer scientists and mathematicians working in the field of formal software and systems development. The course is designed to give an in-depth presentation of state-of-the-art topics, to promote international contacts and collaboration and to team up leading researchers and young scientists.

Application:

Previous training and experience in computer science as well as a solid background in mathematics are indispensable. The directors of the Summer School are allowed to award only a limited number of participants.

Requested are:

  • A letter of recommendation written by your supervisor
  •     A letter of motivation written by yourself

Cost:

All applicants will receive notice by May 31, 2010. Every person who is admitted to attend the Summer School as participant has to pay Euro 680 for the living expenses (covering accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, refreshments, and social events) and Euro 840 for the participation fee (including working material - to be distributed upon arrival - and a copy of the final proceedings). An invoice to the respective amount will be sent to all participants together with a letter of acceptance. Payment of the invoice is due in advance and must be remitted to our bank account by June 30, 2010 at the very latest.
