Visit to AUI from the "Ecole des Mines d'Alès"
The Center of Environmental Issues and Regional Development (CEIRD), the AUI Environmental Club and the Students Activities Division in cooperation with the International Association of the School of Mines in Ales-France (AIEMA) and the Languedoc Roussillon Region Representatives are organizing a visit to Alakhawayn University and to the Meknès-Tafilalet region from Febuary 10 to Febuary 17, 2002.
The visiting group is formed by 18 members including students from the School of Mines of Ales (France), members of the AIMA and representatives of the Languedoc Roussillon Region -namely the Director of Economic Development, Technology Transfer and External Commerce, the Associate Mayor of the City of Alès, the Associate Director of the Industrial Parc of Myriapolis-Ales, the General Secretary of DRIRE (Regional Direction of Industry, Research and Environment), the Division Manager of International Exchange in the Chamber of Commerce of Alès-.
The objective of this exchange visit is to enhance interaction between these two institutions in the framework of the cooperation agreement AUI/School of Mines-Alès. The last successful actions taken under this agreement count with student internships in France and Morocco. In order to extend the cooperation of these institutions at the regional level possibilities of partnership in specific regional development projects are being studied.
This group from Alès will hold working sessions with the Meknès-Tafilalet region representatives and high officers, the Ifrane province representatives and high officers as well as the President of the urban commune.
The members of the delegation will also participate to field trips and to sport and cultural activities organized by the Environmental Club and the Students Activities Division. A field trip to the South of Morocco (region of Errachidia) will also give the opportunity to the members of this delegation to discover the potentialities of the Meknès-Tafilalet region.
