Abstract 1
Recycled agricultural waste composed of acorn and other natural products was used for manufacturing briquettes, an innovative biomass fuel. This investigated material manufactured at the CEIRD was tested for its energetic and mechanical properties.Further technological process mainly press system may improve the properties of the product.
Economical studies (business plan) regarding the future briquettes market have been carried based on data collected through consultation with local community and available technical and economic data. An estimate of the selling price was around 425 DH/ton.
This data shows that this energy alternative may be promising in the Middle Atlas region. On one hand the cost is less than the current price of the wood logs, on the other hands it may incite the population to reduce pressure on the forest and therefore contribute to the Middle Atlas nature conservation and ecological balance.
Abstract 2
Energy efficiency evaluation of some solar cookers prototypes manufactured locally has been carried under Ifrane climatic conditions.Data shows that temperature up to 100 °C may be reached. Samples of local food have been tested. This solar oven may be used as complement for the current firewood oven. Further improvement in technological design and practical use of the best prototype will certainly be a good alternative for wood oven.
Your attendance will be highly appreciated.
