Center for Environmental Issues and Regional Development
Invitation to Organic Products’ Sale!!!!
Dear AUI community,
The Center for Environmental Issues and Regional Development (CEIRD) will be holding a small sale of organic produce on Friday September 22 from 11 a.m to 12 a.m at the students’ game room.
The fruits and vegetables on offer have been "home grown" in AUI's BioParc, and are the result of CEIRD's commitment to environmental conservation through organic, sustainable agricultural practices; without the use of pesticides or industrial fertilizers.
The purpose of the sale is to showcase the positive attributes of organic produce, as well as the overall benefits of sustainable agriculture:
Organic fruits and vegetables are better for you...
because they do not contain residues of toxic pesticides.
They are more flavorful...
because they have not been overbred to yield a "perfect" color, shape or size.
Sustainable agriculture uses water intelligently...
because clean, safe water is a precious resource worldwide and desertification is a growing threat.
It avoids the use of pesticides...
which contribute to environmental degradation and the loss of biodiversity.
All proceeds from the sale will help support the BioParc project. We hope to see you there! Your support to our projects is highly appreciated!!!
I take this opportunity to wish you a happy holly month of Ramadan.
