Two internships available at the CEIRD in Spring 2002
Project: Evaluation of small wind energy systems for rural areas
development in Meknčs Tafilalet/Ifrane region.
The Work will consist of three major components:
1.Technical: technology of wind systems and use for PV production: wind measurement, climatology data gathering and treatment, technology of implementation of wind systems including electrical design systems and maintenance/ parallel systems including solar panels
2.Social: evaluation of the socio-economical aspects of Ifrane area: case study/ prospecting in a community village for accessing renewable energies
3. Financial: evaluation of the current market of wind energy in Morocco, estimation of cost for a small size wind systems, calculation and prediction of the cost and benefits/ drawbacks of the wind energy for small and medium size community groups.
Please note that this is a teamwork with a multidisciplinary group .In addition to field data gathering and contact with population, the trainees will also visit some industries and wind farms in Morocco and possibilities of visiting international units.
No financial compensation is offered to trainees.
