PERSONNEL SAFETY, SECURITY, AND HEALTH POLICIES
VII. EMPLOYEE IDENTIFICATION CARDS
At the time of their initial employment,
all faculty, contract, and classified staff
should request an AUI identification card. Employees should
be in possession of their identification card when on campus
in order to be able to identify themselves when necessary to
University security personnel. The identification card may also
be required to obtain services from various campus units such
as the Business Office, Bookstore, Restaurant and Library. The
identification card is to be returned to the University upon
termination of employment.
Although part-time faculty are not required
to have an AUI identification card, an identification
card will be issued upon request. By requesting
an ID card, a part-time faculty member is agreeing to return
the card at the termination of his or her employment with AUI.

possession or use of illegal drugs in or
on any premises or property owned or controlled
by the University is prohibited.

of competent jurisdiction under a criminal
statute for an offense involving a controlled
substance that occurred in or on premises or property owned
or controlled by the University shall report such action to
the HRM within five (5) days.
An employee who unlawfully manufactures,
sells, distributes, possesses or uses a controlled
substance in or on premises or property owned
or controlled by the University, regardless
of whether such activity results in the imposition
of a penalty under a criminal statute, will
be subject to appropriate disciplinary action up to and including
suspension or termination.

conduct drug/alcohol screening among applicants and employees.
