Chapter 2: POSITION DESCRIPTION
S. DIRECTOR OF THE EXECUTIVE BUSINESS CENTER:

Position Title:
Director of The Executive Business Center

Functional Description:
The Executive Business Center is an academic and Business-oriented unit of Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane. Though an integral part of Al Akhawayn University, the EEC is under the supervision of a specific board appointed by AUI and The American Chamber of Commerce in Casablanca. The mission of the Executive Director of the EEC is to offer a wide spectrum of services mainly to executives in the private as well as the public sector of Morocco.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Continuing education programs; these are a set of sessions provided to cover the need of businesses and public organisations in particular areas of expertise
  • Executive education programs: Executive programs are offered to those willing to obtain a university degree (such as MBA and later, A Master in Engineering management and any other Executive Degree for which the need arises); and
  • information to businesses(business intelligence unit): this function is the result of research and investigations devoted to providing information, analyses and data to businesses and government organizations.

Reporting Line:
The Executive Director of the Executive Business Center reports to the President

Span of Control:
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Executive Business Center are the following:

  • Associate Director for Distance Learning
  • Program specialists

Qualifications:
The Executive Director of the Executive Business Center should have a master or a doctoral degree preferably in adult education and extensive experience in developing and administering educational programs. He or she must have good needs assessment and marketing skills and e adept at both personnel and financial management. Excellent communication skills are essential. He or she must be trilingual, with competence in Arabic, French and English.
