L. Safety and Security Controller:
Position Title:
Safety and Security Controller
Functional Description:
Safety and security controller is responsible
for the administration of campus security, law enforcement,
and the regulation of traffic and parking facilities on campus
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recommends policies, rules and regulations
to ensure a safe campus environment.
- Enforces established rules and regulations regarding general
security, traffic and parking
- Develops and conducts programs for campus groups to improve
security and safety on campus
- Cooperates with local enforcement officers as appropriate
- Develops and administers the operating budget for the department
- Selects, appoints, supervises and evaluates the staff of the
Department
Reporting Line:
- Reports to the Vice President for Finance
and Administration
Span of Control:
Reporting to the Safety and Security Controller
are the following:
- Security Supervisors
- Security Agents
Qualifications:
The Security and safety controller must have
significant experience as a security officer and hold appropriate
educational and training certificates. He must understand and
appreciate the University environment and be service oriented.
The security Controller must be able to interact effectively
with the University community and visitors to the campus. He must
have the ability to defuse tense situations and maintain a calm
and civil environment on the campus
Verbal competence in Arabic, French and English is essential.
