EMPLOYEE BENEFITS GUIDE

8. Maternity Leave

The Maternity Leave Policy highlights AUI’s regulations concerning salary payment when the employee is away from work due to maternity. Only female employees with over one year seniority are eligible to this policy.

The statutory period for maternity leave is fourteen (14) weeks with a minimum of seven (7) weeks following delivery. Being aware of the financial constraints during maternity leave and in order to better accommodate female employees, AUI covers part of the salary of the female employee that is not covered by CNSS as stipulated below. As required by the Moroccan labor code, the employee must not be allowed to work during the seven weeks following her delivery

8.1 Personnel enrolled in CNSS (all categories included)

  • University contribution: 50% of the monthly net salary with a ceiling of 9,000 MAD.
  • Full amount paid to the employee upon her delivery will be: 9,000 + 6,000 = 15,000.00 MAD net monthly.
  • Full-time Moroccan employees are enrolled in CNSS.  The amount reimbursed by CNSS will be added to the amount specified as university contribution. CNSS reimbursement for the total absence period (14 weeks) is around 19.500,00 MAD, for gross salaries above 6,000 MAD.

8.2 Employees Affiliated to Government Institutions

For female employees affiliated to government institutions, whose salary at their institution of origin is below 15,000.00 MAD, the University shall complement their salary to reach the ceiling of 15,000.00MAD.  If the salary at the ministry is above 15,000.00 MAD, she will receive no further contribution from the University.

8.3 Full-Time Personnel not enrolled to CNSS (all categories included)

  • University contribution: 50% of the monthly net salary with a ceiling of 15,000.00 MAD
  • This amount is set to compensate for non-enrollment to CNSS
