The BS in Engineering & Management
Science (BSEMS) is designed to provide
students with an understanding of the dynamics of corporate
operations
that will make them more effective in the workplace and will
better prepare
them for managerial or technical leadership roles in the corporate
environment.
The program is intended to equip students with abilities to:
- use quantitative methods and reasoning in order
to better inform business
decisions,
- identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems;
- understand software and information systems, processes
and methodologies
and ways they can improve quality and efficiency;
- understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global
context;
- apply knowledge of math, science, and engineering;
- understand issues pertinent to resource management and
to business
performance and profitability;
- communicate effectively and operate in technical multidisciplinary
teams to reach business objectives;
- serve as change agents in their company, based on interpersonal
and
teamwork skills; and
- move into graduate programs in engineering or business.
