Mission Statement
Academic Research
- Promote the use of Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing technologies in academic research
- Promote the use of Idrisi and Cartalinx software in Morocco in academic research
- Establish a Geographic Information System database
- Reinforce the standardization of Geo-spatial data in Morocco
- Contribute to environmental monitoring research (mainly land use land cover change)
- Reinforce field methods in pedagogy and research
Continuing Education
- Ensure continuing training for decision-makers in Morocco who work in various fields (development, agriculture, forestry, etc.)
- Ensure advanced training in GIS and RS for researchers and decision-makers (Executive Directors of public institutions, faculty of Moroccan universities etc.)
Technology Transfer
- Promote technology transfer of Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing to Morocco
- Implement Geographic Information System technology in municipalities and other public institutions
