Bachelor of Science in Human Resource DevelopmentDegree ProgramIntroduction The Human Resource Development (HRD) program is a response to the growing need for professionals capable of developing human expertise and improving human performance in organizations. Technological innovation, globalization, organizational restructuring, labor market shifts, and pressure for reduced costs and increased productivity have increased demand for HRD professionals. The program content is based on competencies defined by professional organizations in the field of Human Resources Development. Through content courses in HRD and related topics including research methods, professional ethics, organizational behavior, quantitative methods, group dynamics, and cultural diversity, and through workplace experiences, students acquire the necessary skills to be successful HRD professionals. A Minor in Human Resource Development is also offered. University Common CoreAll students are required to take a number of classes in the University Common Core for a total of 61-62 SCH. Please consult the University Common Core requirements of SHSS Students. School of Humanities and Social Sciences CoreStudents of the School of Humanitites and Social Sciences must also fulfill requirements for the School Core for a total of 22 SCH.
