Minor in Communication Studies

A Communication degree, or minor in Communication, is highly valuable for employment in business/management, international affairs, development, audio-visual media industries (journalism, television and radio), human relations, computation and even increasingly in scientific fields. Al Akhawayn University's Communication program offers students professional and applied communications knowledge, from local to international in scope. Students will gain theoretical, technical and applied expertise in fields such as Public Relations and Advertising, International Communication, Writing and Visual Production, and Mass Media Research. Students graduate with a solid education in skills and theory, technical and historical knowledge, and creative and critical abilities. They have a choice between concentrations in Media Studies or Professional Communication. Students also learn practical job skills through their internships. They also complete a Capstone Project.

A Minor in Communication Studies is also offered.

University Common Core

All students are required to take a number of classes in the University Common Core for a total of 61-62 SCH. Please consult the University Common Core requirements of SHSS Students.

School of Humanities and Social Sciences Core

Students of the School of Humanitites and Social Sciences must also fulfill requirements for the School Core for a total of 22 SCH. Please consult the School Core Requirements.
