CAD Faculty Help Center
Collaborative Research
Throughout the CAD program students are encouraged to participate
in collaborative work. This is achieved through group class activities
and structured team projects. SSK 1202 provides students with the opportunity
to pursue independent collaborative research projects, while SSK 1204
gives students an experience of the procedures and outcomes of peer
review. SSK 1205 requires a final oral collaboration where students
work together on an interpersonal simulation. These projects demand
numerous skills and abilities acquired in previous CAD and Language
Center courses, including:
- team problem solving
- conflict resolution
- research methods
- team management
- role playing
- production of team reports, presentations and essays
- evaluation of fellow students
- responsibility
These courses are intended to encourage self motivated collaboration
and to provide a simulated work place environment.
