"Academic Advising in Two Dimensions" and Advising Follow-up:
Suggestions for Improvement
In early Fall 2005, the CAD faculty identified certain topics that
might meet the needs for teaching support at AUI. A plan was proposed
to hold teaching support sessions on a regular basis, and so a schedule
of workshops was proposed for the academic year 2005-6.
CAD faculty members organized two general faculty development sessions
in November and December 2005. The first one addressed the theme of
Advising, while the second looked at implications of the Withdraw Pass
and Withdraw Fail policies used at AUI. The format used a facilitator
who introduced aspects of the theme for discussion and audience participation,
with potential for follow-up or smaller group extension.

Sessions
Small sessions were held in Room 04 of Building 10, a classroom with
a capacity of 25 people. Larger sessions will be held in the Board Room
of Building 1, with a capacity of 80 people.
