Article 21: The Academic Council of the University shall be entrusted with:

• Promoting and maintaining a high intellectual standard within the University and in accordance with its mission;
• Proposing requirements for students admission, courses of study, the nature of degrees to be conferred, and the conditions of graduation;
• Recommending candidates to receive scholarships and prizes within their respective schools.

Article 22: The proposals of the Academic Council relating to the requirements for admission to the University of national and foreign students, to the system of studies and exams, to the educational and research programs shall be submitted by its President to the Board of Trustees for approval.

Article 23: Acting upon the proposal of the Degree Committee, the Board of Trustees of the University shall award the students who fulfill the academic requirements consistent with the criteria established by international accreditation bodies, the degrees of Bachelor, Master and Ph.D., in addition to all other degrees prepared within the University.

The Board may also award, upon the proposal of the Academic Council, honorary degrees.

The diplomas for the degrees stipulated in the foregoing paragraphs shall be jointly signed by the Chairman of the Board and the President of the University.

Article 24: The immediate suspension of any student may be decided by the President in the case of violation of the University’s regulations, and particularly for a conduct contrary to good morals or for the illegal use, keeping or distribution of drugs or psychotropic substances.

The President of the University shall be responsible for discipline within the University. He shall be assisted by a Disciplinary Committee which decides on the violations of the University’s regulations.
