GOAL AND OBJECTIVES OF THE INCUBATOR
The main objective of Al Akhawayn University Incubator is to create a supportive environment for regional and national socio-economic development. Taking advantage of Al Akhawayn University human and physical resources in addition to its international and national network, the incubator aims at concretizing a key strategic goal for the whole country that is encouraging the creation of startup companies for graduates.
Through our incubator we Strive to build a bridge between AUI research and development units, such as laboratories, research centers, and advanced programs on the one hand, and the business world on the other.
Through the INfoDev grant we plan to build a local capacity within Al Akhawayn University in order to support existing firms that have difficulties in reaching their innovative potential and to help the creation of new companies with original and creative ideas.
Our team of highly qualified and motivated managers with entrepreneurial spirit will offer the incubated companies the highest standard of physical facilities, personalized services for their specific needs, and a constant transfer of know-how and expertise.
We thus hope to set a new standard of excellence in the promotion of innovative ideas, in the encouragement of entrepreneurship, and information technologies and their ever increasing role in the modern firm.
Our incubator aspires to have a positive impact on its community’s economic development by maximizing the success of emerging companies. The incubator will create a dynamic model of a sus¬tainable, efficient business operation. We plan to achieve this objective using a new approach that addresses specifically these barriers. Hence, in addition the physical facilities, the University network, our incubator will make use of the university human and teaching resources to offer:
- Training and technical assistance mainly in ICT (School of Sciences and Engineering)
- Training and support in Marketing, Accounting, Financial planning, Management, entrepreneurship and Business planning (School of Business Administration)
- Training support in communication and human resources development (School of Humanities and Social Sciences)
Furthermore, tenant companies will benefit from a scholarship up to 350 $ during the pre incubation period (up to six months). They will also have access to all University premises.
The incubator endeavors to help create commercial products from nurture
ideas and prototypes developed within the university and other institutions
in Morocco particularly in information technology, Bio-technology and E-Business.
This will generate economical value for the region and the country. The
"Graduate" companies will continue to contribute to the region's
economy through the creation of jobs and taxable activities after leaving
the incubator facilities.
