Clean Up the World Weekend - Field Trip to Zaouait Sidi Abdessalam via ain vittel
As part this weekend's Clean Up the World, Clean Up the Mediterranean campaign, the Center for Environmental Issues and Regional Development (CEIRD) will be hosting a field trip to the Middle Atlas village of Zaouiat Sidi Abdessalam and the surrounding area on Sunday, September 17th, from 8:00am-16:00pm.
ALL are welcome (and encouraged) to attend!
The purpose of the trip is two-fold: to discover "first-hand" the rich biodiversity of the Middle Atlas region by exploring a representative sample of its forest areas, waterways and other natural sites; while at the same time, to participate in a "hands-on" clean up of the local environment (your environment) in collaboration with the local community, NGOs, AUI students and faculty.
We will be departing from Al Akhawayn, near the Globe, at 7:30am. All participants should pack a lunch and a sufficient supply of water for the day. Please be advised to wear comfortable clothes and footwear (as appropriate to a hike), as well as a hat and sunblock. Please note: in the spirit of environmental awareness, at the close of the afternoon we will be returning to AUI on foot--the total walking distance covered during the course of the day will be approximately 16km.
For more information, please contact Sanae, CEIRD administrative assistant. 2324 or Prof Raissouni ,2330.
