The Al Akhawayn University School of Ifrane, Morocco, invites applications from qualified teachers for the following positions for August 2011:

Kindergarten and Elementary School:

·   Prekindergarten Teacher

·   K/K1 Teacher

·   K2/K3 Teacher

·   K4/K5 Teacher

Secondary School

·   English and Social Studies for Grades 6-10 (to be able to teach an additional subject like Music, Art and/or IT would be an advantage)

·   Science Teacher for Grades 6-12 (to be able to teach AP-Physics/Chemistry)

The Al Akhawayn School of Ifrane (ASI) is a private, co-educational, pre-K-12 school designed primarily to educate the children of the national and international staff and faculty of Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane. The school offers an English-language curriculum modeled on the American system to approximately 100 students (2010-2011 academic year), and is presently staffed by twelve full-time and three part-time teachers, most of whom are U.S. citizens. While English is the main language of instruction, Arabic and French are also taught. The school is equipped with modern classrooms, science and computer labs, a library, and athletic facilities. The school has its own campus in Ifrane, yet is an integral part of Al Akhawayn University and operates in accordance with the University’s mission, regulations, and administrative procedures.

The school is located in Ifrane amidst the Middle Atlas Mountains surrounded by the National Parks of Ifrane and Azrou, about 60km away from the imperial cities of Fez and Meknes. The school and its surroundings are very safe, as is traveling in Morocco in general. From the airport in Fez one can easily fly with low-budget airlines to all major cities in Europe. ASI offers a competitive salary and housing. Teaching couples & teachers with children are encouraged to apply. Ability to speak French and/or Arabic is a plus.
