Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What if I have a maintenance problem (electricity, carpentry, plumbing, phone connection)?
If you have repairs in your room, you need to send your request online to the Housing Maintenance Office via the following link: https://www.aui.ma/service-desk/. The link is also available in the AUI website under housing services.

2-What if I have a health problem?
Call your Hall Director for assistance at the emergency extensions: 555 for males and 3333 for females. The University Health Center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Your Hall Director will call the University doctor in case of emergency after 11:00 p.m. You can also ask for the assistance from your RA.

3- Where do I get an extra blanket/Pillow/Pillowcase?
These items are provided at the beginning of each semester and within a specific deadline. Students can drop by building 38’ front desk to have a blanket, pillow and pillowcase.  Blankets are not to be used as rugs.

4-What if I have a problem with the computer connection?
Please send your request online to the helpdesk through  the following link: https://www.aui.ma/service-desk/.

5- What if I lose my room keys or (key cards)?
First of all, pay attention to your keys. In case you lost the key, immediately contact the Housing Officer (Mounir Ouamchi, Ext. 2061) or inform your Hall Director. The lock will be changed and you will be charged accordingly.

6-What if I am expecting a visitor?
Stop by your Hall Director’s office to get an authorization. The guest should leave at 8:30 pm since students are not permitted to host overnight guests.

7-Where do I get tickets for the laundry machines?
Tickets are sold in the campus store for 7 DHs each and for 10 dh for attended machine.

8- What are laundry opening hours?

Building 36:

Building 38:

Monday through Friday:
From 07:30am to 00:00am
Saturday and Sunday: 
From 09:00am to 05:00pm
Tuesday closed

Monday through Saturday:
From 09:00am to 05:00 pm
Sunday closed

9-What if someone is making noise?
Call your RA for assistance. If the problem persists, call your Hall Director and provide the necessary information.

10-What if I need extra cleaning services?
Pay for the service at the Business Office (25 DH per hour) and submit the receipt to the Housing Officer (Mounir Ouamchi Ext. 2061) at least 24 hours in advance.  You may also pay in Building 38’s reception beyond 4:30 pm or during week end.

11-What if I want to change my room for the following semester?
You are advised to check your AUI mail box permanently, an email is sent to all students informing them to start making their room reservations for the following semester. All reservations are made online via an open session which is closed by the deadline indicated in the email. Every effort will be made to honor your request.

12-What if I lose something?
You need to report immediately the incident to Security & Safety Department in building 9, extension: 2222, then you are advised to drop by your Hall Director’s office and fill in a “Property Loss Statement”. You can ask your RA for advice.

13-What if I am locked out?
Your Hall Director can let you in after filling the master key use form. You can request the master key use twice for free.  For the third time, a charge will be applied

14-What if I have a problem with my roommate?
Contact your RA first. As a last resort, your Hall Director can help resolving the problem.

15-What if I want to move University furniture from my room?
Write an email to the Housing Officer (Mounir Ouamchi Ext. 2061) explaining your motivation for this request and ask for an authorization, you may also call him on: 2061

16-Where do I get mail and packages
For mail, check your mail box, whereas if you receive a package, you will receive a message asking you to come and pick it up from the Housing Office.

17-What if I need to talk to a staff or faculty during office hours?
Call the operator at x9 or x5901.

18-What if I need to forward calls to another room?
Dial *53 followed by the extension to which you want to forward the phone calls and end it with #. Example: *53xxxx#.
 To cancel call forwarding dial #53

19-What if I want to use some games?
Visit the Office of Student Activities in Building 14.  You can also check out social games at the Office of your Hall Director in building 38 (e.g. Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Scrabble, Chess and Pictionary).
