Student Employment
Student employment is no longer automatically guaranteed from one semester to another. Rather, it is contingent upon student's demonstrated financial need, work-study performance evaluation, and vacancies available as well as academic achievement.
Student employment beneficiaries must maintain a minimum 2.00 semester grade point average for undergraduates and 3.00 for graduates. Students who fail to meet this requirement during the fall or spring semester are placed on work study probation for the following semester. If they are unable to re-achieve satisfactory academic standing at the conclusion of the probationary semester, they will be placed on par time job suspension until such time they satisfy the semester grade point average requirement. If on the other hand, students obtain a semester grade point average below 1.50 for undergraduates and 2.5 for graduates, they will lose their eligibility to student employment for the following semester. Students in this situation will not regain satisfactory academic standing or be granted eligibility for campus employment for the following semester whatever their summer results are. Most part time job awards are made for the fall and spring semesters. Campus employment is not available to students for the summer session.
At the end of the semester, part time job students who are left with a work-study balance of 60 hours or more will be placed on part time job suspension for the subsequent semester. Scholarship beneficiaries with missing hours of at least 25% of the total hours required to work per semester, their scholarship package will run the risk of being reviewed by the end of the semester.
