Grants
Undergraduates:
Undergraduate beneficiaries are eligible for AUI grant for a maximum of eight (8) semesters. To be eligible for aid and to retain eligibility, a student must be making satisfactory academic progress by achieving a minimum GPA .Therefore; all undergraduate financial aid recipients must maintain a minimum 2.00 semester grade point average. Students who fail to meet this requirement during the fall or spring semester are placed on financial aid probation for the following semester. If they are unable to re-achieve satisfactory academic standing at the conclusion of the probationary semester they will be placed on "financial aid suspension" until such time that they satisfy the semester grade point average requirement. If, on the other hand, students obtain a semester grade point average below 1.50, they will lose their eligibility to financial aid for the following semester. The summer session GPA will not be taken into account either for probation, suspension or reinstatement.
N.B: Financial aid is not available during the summer session.
The following table summarizes the data above:

A separate financial aid system is also applicable to students with AUI grant enrolled in Language Center courses with or without CAD courses in their first or second semester at AUI. At the end of the semester:
- Students who are left with a maximum of 4 language center courses (for e.g. those passing from level 1 to level 2) obtaining a passing grade of (A,B or C) in their CAD and / or regular courses, can maintain their grant for the following semester.
- If the student obtains a failing grade of (D, F or WF) in one course, he will be placed on financial aid probation with a conditional grant for the following semester.
- If the student fails in more than one course, he will automatically lose his grant for the following semester Moreover, students who receive the grade of « F » in one or more language center courses, whether in level 1 or 2, will be placed on scholarship suspension for the following semester regardless of their grades obtained in their CAD or other courses. The cost of one language center course corresponds to that of 3 credits.
