Applying for Financial Aid
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT PROCEDURE
Before the end of the semester, all enrolled AUI undergraduate and graduate students have the possibility to apply for a part time job for the subsequent semester by completing the part time job application form and submit it to the Financial Aid Office. The Financial Aid Coordinator reviews all the part time job applications by checking the work study requirement eligibility and he prepares a detailed report for a meeting with the Dean of Student Affairs and the Director of the Enrollment Services to decide on the new PTJ offers. Then, he proceeds into the work study assignment program. In this framework, some students are interviewed for job placement by their future supervisor. An attempt is made to take into consideration the students’ interests and abilities as well as the needs of the various University Departments. All student assignment areas are mentioned on the back page of the part time job application form in order to ensure fair, equal, and nondiscriminatory employment opportunity for all interested students.
Students eligible to benefit from a part time job receive an e-mail at the beginning of the semester notifying them of the student- employment offer asking them to drop by the financial aid office and to pick up their assignment letter. They are also required to complete with their appropriate supervisors the student employee timesheet on a weekly basis, which has to reach the Office of the Financial Aid by the end of the semester.
