Transient or non-degree students
Students in good standing may be considered for regular admission with transient status during the summer or for one of the longer sessions.
Transient applicants wishing to convert to regular status after one or more semesters at AUI will be required to complete all the general education requirements pertaining to their academic program. Former AUI students do not automatically qualify for transient or non-degree status.
Transient applicants are strongly advised to provide a list of courses for which they intend to enroll bearing the signature of Registrar of their home institution. Undergraduate transient students must enroll for a minimum of 9 credits and a maximum of 15 credits in the Fall and Spring. In the summer session, they must enroll for a total of 6 credits.
Transient admission is based on the following:
- Evaluation of University transcripts
- Successful interview, where applicable
Application Material for Transients
- Complete and submit an online application
- Post required application material to the Office of admissions and Outreach before the published deadlines
- Application Fee of 500 DH
- Certified copy of high school diploma (High school diplomas based on distance education, GED and similar tests are not accepted towards admission)
- Official transcripts of all university level course work completed and/or attempted
- Authorization from your registrar's office to take the selected courses at AUI
- Two Copies of identity card, “CIN” (passport for internationals)
- Six passport size recent color photographs
- Short essay of 200 to 300 words long explaining why you wish to join Al Akhawayn University.
- Applicants (whose native language is not English) who do not have a TOEFL score of 530 in the TOEFL must pay an additional 480 DH with the application material to take Al Akhawayn Institutional TOEFL, or arrange to take the international TOEFL at Amideast. An official score report must be available at Admissions before November 30th for the spring session; June 30 for the Fall session. International TOEFL score reports typically take four to five week to arrive.
