Mohammed VI Library Visitors Policy

Mohammed VI Library provides the largest English language research collections in Morocco that include both print and electronic resources.

The mission of Mohammed VI Library is to provide access to information in support of the education, research, and development activities of Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane. It supports the University's policy of advancing the ideals of liberal arts and professional education, critical thinking and freedom of academic expression.

Its main goal is to build collections to support the University's academic and research programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and support the university’s researchers.

The library is also open by request to outside national and international researchers who may access its facilities and use its resources, according to its Visitors Policy.   External visitors can use the Library resources on site for two days a week by emailing a request to the Library Director care of This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by submitting a written request along with a copy of the student card and a copy of the National Identity Card/Passport. Requests should indicate the days on which the visitor wishes to come to the library.

- External Users may access the Library twice a week and use all the resources on site; they may not borrow books or any other items from the library.

- Library users can bring only bottled water into the library (No Food or soft drinks are allowed).

N.B. Violators may incur a fine of 200 DH.

Library hours

Library regular hours are as follows:

Monday to Thursdays:           08h00 – Midnight

Fridays:                                  08h00 – 18h00

Saturdays:                              Midday – 18h00

Sundays:                                14h00 – Midnight

N.B. Library hours are extended during exam periods and reduced during break, intersessions, on holidays and during the summer sessions.
