How Do I Find Books, Articles, Theses, etc.?

Mohammed VI Library is an expansive and state-of-the-art facility, and as such, has a sizeable collection. The following pages can assist you in finding your way to the items of your choice.

How to Find Books:

There are many ways to search the Mohammed VI Library's catalog (OPAC) to find a given book.

By author:

Type the name of the author that you want to find, then press the Enter key or click Submit.

Type the author's last name first.

For example:

  • Shakespeare
  • Shakespeare, William
  • Shakespeare, W

You may also type the name of an organization or governmental body.

 

For example:

  • Al Akhawayn University
  • American Medical Association

By title:

Type the title you want to find, then press the Enter key or click Submit.

Type as much or as little of the title as you want. For example:

  • Principles of advertising
  • Principles of adv
  • Principles

 

By subject:

Type the subject you want to find, then press the Enter key or click Submit.

Type as much or as little of the subject as you want.

For example:

  • Children's Rights
  • North African History
  • United States History

The subject search uses a specific, controlled vocabulary for describing Library material. If you do not find what you are looking for in the subject index, try a keyword search or ask a Librarian for assistance.

By call number:

Type the call number you want to find, then press the Enter key or click Submit.

Type as much or as little of the call number as you want.

For example:

  • E 184 .M88 L68 2002
  • QA 402.6 R65 1986
  • QA 402

By simple keyword:

Type the keyword (s) in the box below then press Enter or click the Submit button.

Type the keyword you want to find.

For example:

  • Moroccan Literature
  • Education

How to Find Articles:

Mohammed VI Library subscribes to different databases that enable you to identify and access articles published in academic journals, magazines and newspapers on a specific topic or by a particular author. These databases provide resources that are not freely available on the Web, and cannot be found using search engines such as Google. These databases may be accessed only from computers connected to the AUI network or from off-campus through the use of EZproxy services.

  • Arts and Humanities: Academic Search Complete, JSTOR, Taylor & Francis
  • Business and Economics: Business Source Complete, EIU, Sage Publications, Taylor& Francis
  • Computer Science and Engineering: ACM Digital Library, Academic Search Complete
  • Health Sciences: Medline
  • Social Sciences: Academic Search Complete, JSTOR, , Sage Publications

How to Find Theses:

The Mohammed VI Library catalog treats AUI Theses like books and can searched by author, title, or keyword.

You can search the Mohammed VI Library Catalog for theses by:

Author (last name, first name)
   Example: Bahri, Leila.
Title
   Example: ITIL adoption and implementation at ITS - case studies

Keyword (type any keyword)
   Example: bahri, or ITIL

The OPAC allows the users to browse all AUI theses through the Featured Items List.
