The
mission of the Multimedia Learning Center (MLC) is
to support the research and projects of the AUI
community, and to promote information literacy and
trainings in areas of information technology.
It
houses various content formats, digital, print,
video and audio.
It uses 15 cutting-edge workstations connected to
the Internet to access educational, reference
software and
online databases.
The
MLC is located on the
1st floor of the library,
adjacent to the Library Director’s Office, and is
open according the following schedule.

The MLC
houses 20 workstations, 1 laser printer, 1
color printer, and 3 image scanners, which
are available to all MLC users. Priority for
use of the MLC collections and facilities
will be:
• Library’s orientation, bibliographic
instruction, and training programs.
• Academic projects.
• Personal interests or self-education and
improvement.
1. AV
materials may be checked out for one week.
This includes CD-ROMs, audiocassettes,
videocassettes, and DVDs, in addition to any
accompanying booklets or guides. A maximum
of 3 AV items may be checked out by an
individual.
2. AV
materials may not be renewed. Except faculty
may renew videocassettes 1 time for
instructional purposes.
3.
Duplication of commercial or copyright
protected materials is illegal and will not
be tolerated.
4. Copying
of proprietary software will not be
tolerated.
5. The
workstations may NOT be reconfigured under
any circumstances. Software should not be
installed or uninstalled without the
permission of the MLC staff.
6. All
problems with equipment must be reported
promptly to the MLC staff.
7. Users
cannot save files on workstations. Computer
hard drives are erased on a regular basis,
so users must provide adequate storage of
their own (CD-ROM, Zip, or floppy) to retain
files.
8. Mobile
phones, food, and drink are not allowed in
the MLC.
9. Personal
items may not be left at workstations.
Library items left in the MLC will be turned
over to Circulation.
10. Users
will incur an overdue fine of 10 DHs per day
for MLC materials and equipment that is not
returned at or before the appointed time.
11. Users
will incur and overdue fine of 20 DH per day
for MLC digital cameras is not returned on
time, patrons are to pay a 20 DH fine per
day.

Faculty, graduate students, and
staff may book AV materials, rooms,
and equipment. This includes the
projectors, laptops, digital
cameras, classroom, and conference
room. Items may be booked only for
the item’s pre-established
circulation period; videos 7 days,
projectors 2 days. Overdue fines
accrue on items returned late.
•
Equipment and rooms may be booked
for in library use only.
•
Booking should be completed online
by the requester. Booking may also
be requested in person in the MLC.
•
Undergraduate students may not book MLC equipment.
•
Bookings will be cancelled if items
are not picked up within 2 hours of
scheduled time.
•
Bookings must be cancelled promptly
if not needed. Failure to pickup
items or cancel the booking will
result in suspension of booking
privileges.
•
Bookings can be placed up to one
month prior to the date needed.
•
If required, library staff will
provide instruction on the setup and
use of the requested item.
•
The requester must take personal
responsibility for the booking,
checkout and return of equipment in
good order. Users are responsible
for the security of the equipment
and for returning it clean and in
working order. Any damage or
problems must be reported at check
in.
•
Priority for booking will be for
academic projects and teaching.
