  • Dr. Hassane Darhmaoui got his PhD. in Physics from the University of Alberta Edmonton, Canada in 1997. He joined Al Akhawayn University (AUI) in January 1997. He is currently an associate professor in the School of Science and Engineering. In 2009 he was appointed coordinator of the Center for Learning Technologies at AUI. His R&D research at AUI mainly focuses on renewable energies applications: energy efficiency in rural houses, solar air conditioning hybrid system, Concentric PV, and wind-hydrogen system. His graduate research was in solid state physics, mainly in superconducting high Tc thin films and surface science. His research in education centers on ICT integration in science education and astronomy popularization. Dr. Darhmaoui is is co-author of more than 40 research papers and has more than 60 presentations in various conferences. He was the principal investigator/coordinator of a number of funded projects. Dr. Darhmaoui is a Fulbright alumnus; he was an invited researcher at NIST, Boulder, Colorado in the USA during summer 2002. He was also an invited scholar at the physics department of the University of a South Carolina, USA during summer 2000.
