School of Science and Engineering

Welcome to AUI School of Science and Engineering(SSE)

Welcome to the website of Al Akhawayn’s School of Science & Engineering (SSE). We hope you will also have a chance to visit us on campus.

Let me start by saying that this is an exciting time at Al Akhawayn University. We are developing new engineering programs and offering more merit-based scholarships to engineering students. Our faculty are attracting significant research funding to work on innovative solutions to real-world problems, involving our students in stimulating R&D projects.

Our full-time faculty have international qualifications and are committed to their students and to the quality of their teaching. They rely on state-of-the-art laboratories and computer infrastructure and on a strong network of partners (in the USA, France, Germany, Japan, etc.). The high standards of our programs have received international recognition, e.g., in a quality assurance program by the United Nations Development Program and the British Quality Assurance Agency.

At SSE, you receive hands-on training to solve problems for industry and business, both in the private and public sectors. You receive an education not only to serve as an engineering professional with strong practical technical know-how, but also as a life-long learner, communicator and team player who exhibits creativity, initiative and leadership. With an engineering degree from SSE, you could be working on designing a chip for a cell phone or a camera, engineering a computer network solution for your company or customer, developing software for e-transport or e-government, coming up with a new food product, or managing operations in a manufacturing plant or a bank. Many business and political leaders in Morocco and other countries have an engineering background.

Some of our graduates work in leading Moroccan companies (e.g., HPS, Involys, Maroc Telecom, Meditel, Omnidata), in public administration (e..g, Direction Générale des Impôts, ANRT, Bank Al Maghrib, ONEP, CDVM, RAM, BCP), or in multinationals (e.g., Microsoft, HP, Airbus, IBM, Oracle, Dell, ST, ARINSO, Coca Cola, Ernst & Young, Ericsson, Proctor & Gamble, Kraft Foods, Citibank). Others found their own companies (e.g., Caciopee, B3G, Enhanced Technologies). Yet others pursue graduate programs at SSE or at other prestigious schools (e.g., Ecole Centrale Paris, HEC Paris, EM Lyon, Technical Univ. Munich, Univ. of Washington, Univ. of Maryland, Univ. Southern California, Reensselaer Polytechnic Institute, George Washington, George Mason, Univ. Toronto, Auburn Univ, Univ. Lecce).

Our full-time faculty have international qualifications and are committed to their students and to the quality of their teaching. They rely on state-of-the-art laboratories and computer infrastructure and on a strong network of partners (in the USA, France, Germany, Japan, etc.). The high standards of our programs have received international recognition, e.g., in a quality assurance program by the United Nations Development Program, the British Quality Assurance Agency, and recently the accreditation of our BSCSC program by the Computing Commission of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) for the US.
