The Al Akhawayn University Institute of Economic Analysis and Prospective Studies (IEAPS)

The Al Akhawayn University Institute of Economic Analysis and Prospective Studies (IEAPS) is launching a new research project on “The New Economics of Skilled Labor Migration of Medical Doctors: The Case of Middle Eastern and Eastern European Emigration to the European Union.” An outcome of the 2010 FEMISE (Forum Euro-méditerranéen des Instituts des Sciences Economiques) competition, the project will be lead by Al Akhawayn/IEAPS with FEMISE support. The core team will comprise IEAPS members, two faculty from the Al Akhawayn School of Business Administration, two faculty from the Department of Economics at the University of Bucharest, Romania, and one faculty member each from Aarhus University in Denmark and the Moroccan Institute of International Relations (IMRI, Casablanca). The project will examine economic policies in EU, Eastern Europe, and MENA countries as they relate to the role of medical doctors in health systems in the Mediterranean region
