CBE Leads Two Faculty Capacity Building Workshops

Al Akhawayn Center for Business Ethics (CBE) organized two Faculty Development Workshops on Business Ethics Case Writing in Casablanca and Ifrane during April 27th - 28th and May 11-12 respectively,  to accommodate both faculty teaching in French and those teaching in English. A total of 26 faculty members teaching in 14 Business Schools participated in the workshops - all based in eight different cities - including Mohamed VI University, Hassan II University, Moulay Ismail University, ENCG, International University in Rabat (UIR), Mundiapolis and AUI.

“Case Method is a powerful teaching tool in Business Education as it brings, among other things, a piece of business realities into Business Courses. Learning outcomes are usually found to be remembered for life” notes Dr. Wafa El Garah, Founder and Project Director of CBE. “The workshops focused on building faculty capacities in constructing cases as an effort to enrich teaching material with locally contextualized business perspectives. This is geared towards inspiring future managers with socially responsible and values-driven leadership,” adds Dr. El Garah. Facilitated by Paris-based eminent Case Method Specialist, Dr. Tamym ABDESSAMAD, the workshop walked participating faculty through the processes of conceptualizing, scripting, elaborating, and managing case study writing projects. The expert-led workshop was designed for both experienced as well as new case writers. Faculty had the chance to share and exchange best practices regarding impactful uses of Case Method in Business Courses.
