AUI Students Participate in the 2017 Undergraduate Research Competition

On April 25th, students presented and were judged for their work on undergraduate research. A list of the participants and results from the competition can be found below:

SSE student, Alia Razid, won first place for her research, “Characterization of a Metallo-Beta Lactamase Gene,” and was advised by faculty member, Khalid Sendide.

Oumaima Lamaakel, supervised by SSE faculty member Samir El Hajjaji, won second place for her research, entitled: “Potential of Biodiesel Production from Fish Waste in Morocco.”

SHSS student, Joshua Wagner, supervised by faculty member, Paul Love, presented his research entitled: “The Controversiality of Saying ‘Black Lives Matter.’”

SSE student Souhail Meftah, supervised by faculty member, Mhammed Chraibi, presented his paper, “Policy Based Context Aware Service Level Agreement (SLA) Management in the Cloud.”

SSE student, Ismail Alaoui Abdellaoui, advised by faculty member Hamid Harroud, presented his research, “Machine Learning Techniques for Financial Forecasting.”

Ayoub Makroz, supervised by Anas Bentamy, presented his research, entitled: “The Aerodynamic Optimization of a Wind Trubine Blade Using Blade Element Momentum.”

SSE student, Aymane Eddahmani, supervised by Ahmed Khallaayoun, presented his research, “Load Optimization in a Smart Home Energy Management System.”
