SHSS Professors Published in the Journal of North African Studies

AUI’s Dr. Kenza Oumlil, professor of Communication and Gender, recently published an essay on her research, entitled, “The representation of women in Moroccan television talk shows,” in The Journal of North African Studies. The paper examines the construction of women’s identity in Moroccan television talk shows.

Concurrently, Dr. Bouziane Zaid, SHSS professor of Media and Communication, had his paper, entitled “The authoritarian trap in state/media structures in Morocco’s political transition,” published in the Journal of North African Studies. Dr. Zaid’s article explores the complex process of media reforms during political transition in Morocco.
