Alumnus Turns Passion Into Action

After earning a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering (’03), a Master of Science in Computer Networks (’05) at Al Akhawayn University and an Executive MBA at ENPC Paris, Alumnus Tayeb Sbihi is one of the four youth members of the 4Afrika Advisory Council appointed on February 18, 2014, to represent the youth demographic in the initiative headed by former Tanzanian president Benjamin Mkapa. The Advisory Council’s goal is to guide the strategic investments undertaken by the Microsoft 4Afrika Initiative, and ensure 4Afrika is closely aligned to broad African development goal.

With a wide knowledge of the telecoms market, Tayeb founded his first company, B2N Consulting. The company offers a wide range of telecom services and solutions to its customers in Morocco and Africa. He is a member of CEED (Center of Entrepreneurial and Executive development) and co-founder of itaxi.ma; an application that won a Microsoft 4Africa Innovation Grant Award. Itaxi.ma is a mobile app that uses geo-location technology, allowing users to send their location and transport details to available taxi drivers in the area and track their progress.

With his experience and technical mastery of the telecom market in Morocco and Africa after nearly 10 years of professional experience in various multinational companies specialized in ICT, Tayeb is very passionate about bringing universal and quality internet access to Africa.
