Al Akhawayn Engineering students Basma Iraqi ('13), Asmae El Mokrini ('12), Farah Boukfal('13), and Zineb Rhenejar ('13) successfully passed the interviews and were offered paid internships in March 6, 2012 at Dailmer AG, a multinational automotive corporation in Stuttgart, Germany.
Engineering student Sara Moustahssin ('12) has also succeeded in landing a paid internship at the Siemens Headquarters in Munich, Germany.

Abdellah Chekayri, Associate Professor of Arabic and Coordinator of the Al Akhawayn University Arabic Language and North African Studies Program, published an article entitled "La Sensibilisation Culturelle dans l’Enseignement de la Langue Arabe” in a conference proceedings publication L'Enseignement des Langues en Immigration (2011): pp. 217-233. The conference was on "Langues en Immigration: Mutations et Nouveaux Enjeux" and was organized on June 24-25, 2010 by the Council for the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME). Eric Ross, Associate Professor of International Studies, published an article entitled “Globalizing Touba: Expatriate Disciples in the World City Network” in Urban Studies, vol. 48, no.14 (2011): pp. 2929-2952.
Al Akhawayn Institute for Economic Analysis and Prospective Studies in collaboration with Haute Ecole de Commerce, Paris, are launching in February 2012 a field study for l'Observatoire National du Développement Humain on the application of Behavioral Economics tools to decision-making in the context of poverty. For the purposes of the study, the region of Ifrane will be used to test the preliminary models developed.
