Required core courses : 24 CREDITS

  • Comparative Law I (Islamic/Shari’a and OHADA legal traditions).
  • Comparative Law II (Anglo American and EU legal traditions).
  • Private International Law.
  • Business Law and Economics.
  • Corporate Governance and Law.
  • International and Comparative Tax Policy.
  • International Litigation and Arbitration.
  • Thesis in Cross-border Law.

 

Elective courses: 12 CREDITS

Student will select four elective from the following:

  • Semester in Practice with International/Foreign Law Focus.
  • International Business Transactions.
  • International Trade Law.
  • Multinational Corporate Responsibility.
  • Cross-border Financial Transactions/investment.
  • International Intellectual Property Law.
  • International Labor Law.
  • E-commerce Law.

 

 

OBJECTIVES of THE PROGRAM

To provide students with knowledge and understanding of international and foreign law, an awareness of underlying issues and the necessary skills to navigate the global legal environment. It prepares students for employment within domestic or EU administrations, as well as for employment at companies or private practices acting in the global market.

INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES of THE PROGRAM

To provide students with:

  • An understanding of the basics of African (including Islamic/Shari’a and OHADA), European and Anglo-American business Law.
  • An understanding of the interplay of different areas of African, European and Anglo-American Business law.
  • The theoretical background necessary to analyze complex legal and regulatory questions within a national and international framework.
