Al Akhawayn University Centre has four doctors, four nurses and an insurance coordinator who processes health insurance claims. A doctor is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All students are automatically enrolled in the University health insurance plan.
The Health Centre is conveniently located in Building 26.
Services
The mission of the University Health Center is to provide healing, caring, and education to the University community through the following services:

All services and consultations are kept in strict confidence.
If a student is too ill to leave her/his room, a Housing officer will send a stretcher to bring the student to the Health Center. The doctor cannot visit student rooms. All necessary precautions are taken during cold weather.
Medical Certificates
Short-term illnesses and minor injuries do not yield medical certificates to justify absences. Only absences, justified and authorized by the Health Center physicians, are taken into consideration.
External medical certificates should be submitted within 48 hours for validation (fax: 0535 862979). AUI physicians may approve or not medical certificates presented by the patient.

The Center’s hours or operation are from 8:00am to 11:00pm; however, medical consultations are from 9:00am to 6:00pm
Medical Insurance
All AUI students are covered by WAFA insurance. Benefits of the insurance policy include reimbursements up to 80% for declaration of illness and up to 100% in case of hospitalization.
