Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane is committed to providing a safe and secure campus. To do that, the university needs your help. You can help reduce the risk of crime by remaining aware of your surroundings and taking practical precautions for your safety and for the protection of possessions. You are strongly encouraged to be proactive and reduce your vulnerability by planning not to be a crime victim.

The following precautions should be taken:

  • Report all suspicious activity to the university security department immediately.
  • Travel in pairs or groups.
  • Look suspicious individuals in the eye.
  • Park in well-lit areas and check the inside of your vehicle before entering.
  • Keep articles of value in your closets or covered out of plain view.
  • Have your building or vehicle key/ID card ready as you approach.
  • Take help of security guard posted at nearest post.
  • Use locks at all times.
  • If your ID card is lost or stolen, contact Security Department immediately.
  • Do not choose to drink. Much of the crime that happens on college campuses, especially sexual assault/abuse, includes the involvement of alcohol.
  • Be cautious how much personal information you placed on social networking web sites.
