Outdoor Activities

Adventure Trips

All trips are designed to provide students, faculty and staff with exciting outdoor recreational opportunities. The athletic department intention is to provide students with experiences that develop new kills, leadership qualities and an appreciation for the environment.

Policies/Procedures

Eligibility

Trips are open to all AUI community.

Consumption or possession of drugs and/or alcohol is prohibited in any Outdoor Adventure program.

You must attend the pre-trip meeting or you will not be allowed to participate in the scheduled trip.  You shall not receive a refund.

Complete and sign all medical, waivers, and release forms.

Most trips will have group housing in tents, shelters, hotels, or bunkhouses. There will be no accommodations made for exclusive relationships.

Trips will start and end at a specific location. If a participant is not at the designated site on time, the athletic department will not delay the start of the trip.

Registration

Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Students can reserve a spot on a trip in person only during the sports complex open hours.  Payment of the trip will be made by Cash Wallet. The fees for the trip are not refundable unless students will find a substitute participant 3 Days prior to the trip. The refund will be processed only upon payment of the trip fee by the substitute participant.

Trip might be cancelled because of the following reasons: Te number of students who sign up for the trip is not enough, bad weather conditions. The athletic department reserves the right to cancel trips.

Cost

The trip fees vary from program to program. They may cover all or a portion of: food, transportation, accommodation, guides, contracted outfitters…

You are responsible for any personal camping gear items, your own clothing and footwear, as well as items not covered in your specific programs cost as identified at the pre-trip meeting.
