American Cinema Celebrity Visited Al Akhawayn University Campus



Ifrane, March 22, 2012 – Famous American actress Sigourney Weaver visited Al Akhawayn University today. Accompanied by her husband Jim Simpson, theater and film director, and her friend Monica Gerard-Sharp Wambold, Sigourney Weaver paid a courtesy visit to Al Akhawayn University during her stay in Ifrane. 

Al Akhawayn officials, faculty members, staff, and children from Al Akhawayn School in Ifrane were present to welcome the celebrity guest who declared that education is a most important asset particularly to women. The visit comprised a presentation on the University, an autograph signature session, and a campus tour.

 “Combining between the American style and the traditions that already exist in the Moroccan culture from warmth, deep confidence, to generosity, constitute an unbeatable message” said Sigourney Weaver.  Flattered as an American to see such a model followed by Al Akhawayn University, she added that “a lot of students seeing the unique value offered here will definitely like to be in such a place.”
