AUI partners with the Moroccan Ministry of Education, the Global Alliance for Africa, CITI-Association, and MATHSCAN to provide digital learning education in Ifrane middle schools

The Global Alliance for Africa (GAA), Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI), and the humanitarian AUI Lions Club have partnered with the Moroccan Ministry of Education to provide and maintain a digital learning curriculum to middle schools in the Ifrane region. The GAA introduced the pilot program at three schools and organized a one-day teacher training program in June 2021 at the Azrou Centre, which was attended by 20 participants from Al Farabi, Omar Bnouabdel Aziz, and the Azrou Center.  The training was held at the Azrou Center and conducted by members of CITI-Association.

The program provided 25 tablets and keyboards to each school, along with a free subscription to the MATHSCAN application, internet connectivity, and large smart TVs for teaching purposes. A total of 75 tablets were distributed. The program is expected to reach four additional schools by January 2022. All stakeholders look forward to a continuing partnership with the Moroccan Ministry of Education in enhancing the education of middle and primary school students in the region of Ifrane, especially those who are in need.
