As part of their social activities and humanitarian actions, AUI’s Lions Club organized a multidisciplinary medical caravan in Sebt Ain Lehnach, located a few kilometers from Ifrane on June 27, 2021.
The medical caravan was organized in partnership with the Lions International Doctors Club of Casablanca, and part of a collaboration with the provincial delegation of Health of Ifrane, the provincial delegation of education of Ifrane, local authorities of Sebt Ain Lehnach, and sponsored by BMCE bank.
About 750 people benefited from consultations and care by 35 doctors and nursing staff in pediatrics, gynecology, dermatology, ophthalmology, radiology, dental surgery, psychiatry, and general medicine. Also, the patients benefitted from the distribution of drugs, according to the prescriptions given to them.
The objective is to support and bring health services closer to the mountain population, improve health coverage in remote rural areas, and assist the inhabitants of these areas who suffer from difficulties in accessing medical treatment. This initiative was also an opportunity to raise awareness around Covid-19, the importance of vaccination, as well as the need to strictly respect social distancing to limit the risks of spread and contamination of the pandemic.
